What is a good water proof insulator to run underground for wires?
I was just wondering what is a cheap, but still effective means of running wires and chords underground(a few hundred meters), which obviously needs to be made water proof and insulated, yet also durable, because of the pressure? I make minimum wage(around $7/hour)... So I'm not rich.(Read below for more detail)
I have a plan set up for this summer while schools out to set up a water proof/underground system of cables and wires/extensions from either the power line or my house to the woods that are off of my house, so that its not noticeable when I need some alone time from everything, and to just relax, that I'm going into the woods. I can set up a TV there and power line. I plan to get a lock box set up with a key I will keep for rmyself only, and a way to preserver some kind of a stand for the entertainment out there.... I have sources to everything else already, as my dad works for a cable/wire making company, and he never questions me ^_^.
PVC pipe is your answer.
It is cheap and waterproof and strong
You will also need primer and cement to join them with couplings. It is cheap also, and you can buy them together in a small amount.
PVC comes in different sizes (diameter) but in 10' lengths. It is perfect for underground and it protects it.
Just follow the instructions on the cement and primer as you want the joints to be waterproof.
