Cat has abnormal white cell count, should I be worried about my dog?
So, I brought my cat to get spayed today, and they were unable to do the procedure due to a low white count. This is the second time that this has happened. She tested negative for feline leukemia, and the vet says that she has "abnormal" looking cells. She has no idea what it could be and is sending the cell pics to a specialist.
My question is, should I be worried about my dog, is it likely that this could be caused by something transmittable, such as a virus?
I wouldn't be too worried about the dog. Most of the more common viruses in cats are unique to cats, such as respiratory infections, distemper, etc. Did the vet test for FIV and FIP? I believe it can even be caused by a stressful vet visit. Sometimes they never find the cause and the cat goes on to live a happy healthy life.
