how can i train my bird to let me pet her on head/ back?
she is trained to go on finger and she begs to play with paper and mu shirt, so that's how we spend time together, her on finger/lap eating paper/ my shirt and being a bit too scared of noises. but i want to pet her also when holding her! how can i train her? (use the old food trick?)
They smaller the bird the harder it is, if you place to much pressure you could severely injure you bird or even kill it. One of the ways I have seen is a clip form Chet Wormach an American Bird trainer, he uses a technique where you slowly move towards your bird and raise a finger near the head and puase. repeat this several times allowing your bird to get use to you wanting to scatch it's head slowly and patiently move closer over a period of time you will eventually be able to scratch your your birds head.
