Rawhide Dog
Are rawhide and pig skin dog chews the same thing?Are they both bad for dogs?
(I've heard that rawhide causes choking and constipation.)
Rawhide is cattle skin.
Choking is possible, but that's the same as you and a packet of nuts; it's a relative risk.
Constipation is dependant on your dogs diet. A dog that is fed a regular amount of rawhide will have bowel movements suitable to its normal food. Introducing any new food can cause diarrhoea or constipation.
Regular feeding of products labelled as pig is not recommended due to the cholesterol content leading to blood circulation problems.
