do you really need to walk your dog first thing?
Hi all, getting a guide dog soon, really excited but have never had a dog before. Do I *reallly* need to walk the dog first thing or do you think it can wait til I've showered and dressed? I don't want to be one of those people who go out walking their dog in the pajamas - I've always been a straight into the shower person. I can wait for my breakfast but I need my shower! Plus I hate feeling sweaty. Don't mind a bit of mud but I like to be washed!
on a separate note, are there any pooper scoopers that you hold at arms length? Not keen on the bags.
Your dog will need a pee and a poo as soon as he wakes up in the morning, however he can do this in your garden/yard. If you intend to feed your dog in the morning you must leave a two hour gap before you walk him. This is to ensure that he does not get a torsion which deep chested dogs are prone to.
Yes you can get a poo scoop which is held at arms length. It consists of a shovel and a separate thing with another long handle to scoop the poo onto the shovel.
