Optimum Diet

Anyone up for an interview on a specific diet they've chosen?
As a homework assignment, I'm supposed to interview someone who has been on one of the following diets: Atkins, Weight Watchers, Slim Fast Optima Diet, Sugar Busters, or the South Beach Diet. I don't know anyone close to me who has tried one of these, so your help is well appreciated! If you're up to it, would you mind answering the following questions?
1.) Why did you initially choose this diet?
2.) What is the basic premise of this diet/eating plan?
3.) What were two positive aspects of the diet?
4.) Were there any downsides to the diet plan? Explain.
5.) Did you have success on this diet?
6.) Are you still on the diet plan?
7.) Have you maintained your weight loss?
8.) Do you feel the diet is safe? Why or why not?
9.) Did you exercise while on the diet?
10.) Would you follow this diet plan again?
Thank you for your time!
I'm on Weight Watchers.
1. I chose this diet because it appears to be the most sensible to me. You can eat real food and it encourages variety. In its basic form, it is calorie control, which I still consider the most basic way to lose weight - take in less calories - or more to the point, use more than you eat. I have also had success with this program in the past.
2. Every food has a point value, based on its calories, fat and fibre. Your daily points allowance is based on things like your weight, height, age, etc.
3. Two positive aspects of the diet: a) No food purchases required; b) No food is disallowed - you eat what you want, within your points.
4. The downside I foresee is maybe having to count my points forever! Once you reach your goal weight, you are still supposed to count points to maintain your weight.
5. Eight weeks in, I have had great success. Still going!
6. Yes, I am still on the plan.
7. I've maintained my losing weight status! I have quite a ways to go.
8. I do indeed feel the diet is safe. I am eating better than I ever did and am not cutting out any aspect of a healthy diet.
9. I haven't started exercising yet. One thing at a time. I do realize that in order to continue getting healthier, exercise will have to enter the equation at some point. Soon.
10. Would I follow this again? Well, I hope not to have to again! But yes, if the weight creeps on (once it is lost!), I would use this program again.
I hope that helps!
