Jesus Love

Protestants: Do you believe that a person is who saved by Jesus will love others?
In other words, can it be said that someone who does not love others but claims to be a Christian believer cannot truly be saved? I'm not Catholic or an Orthodox Christian. I attend a Protestant church.
The true core of the Christian ethic is to "love your neighbor as yourself." To the extent you do NOT do this to that extent you are failing in being a Christian.
But this is NOT quite enough. In order to love correctly we must understand truth correctly.
Of course the varying interpretations of scripture has splintered Protestantism into hundreds of sects (or Churches) which all claim that THEY and they alone are the correct purveyors of Christianity.
And today the "Fundamentalists" Christians, with their irrational "Manifesto for Christian Churches" has taken "revealed truth" to the reaches of total absurdity.
To believe that "salvation" rest soley upon "taking jesus as one's personal savior" is the height of folly.
(1 John 4: 16) "God is love and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him."
(John 13:34-35) "I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. 35 By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
(1 John 2:4-5)
"He who says "I know him" but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him:"
Just to mouth the words or cognitively "believe" in Christ as one's "so-called personal savior" is next to meaningless.
In fact, one does not even need to have known about Christ or even the existence of the Bible to be "saved through Christ."
And although we are not saved on our own merits, our "faith" is MANIFEST by our works. Without "works' our faith proves FALSE. To LOVE others IMPLIES works of love.
It is stated right in James: Chapter 2 : 14-26
14
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
15
If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day,
16
and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?
17
So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18
Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
19
You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.
20
Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless?
21
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?
22
You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works.
23
Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called "the friend of God."
24
See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25
And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route?
26
For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
The Church of Christ does NOT necessarily consist of those who mouth the words: "I accept Jesus as my personal savior."
The Church of Christ consist of those people who put their "faith" in Christ's rule of love, and the profession of this "faith" is shown by their "works." We are NOT saved by our own "works" but by the grace of God. But "by their fruits you shall know them." The Church of Christ consist of those people who put their "faith" in Christ's rule of love whether they call themselves Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, Muslims, or even atheists.
