Dog Coat

dog coat colors. What color does red and black make is it brindle?
what color coat would a dog have if its mother is red colored and its dad was a black colored coat? I have a red dog and a black colored dog who are going to have pups... thanks. does anyone know the answer to this question?
Both dogs are pure breed Bostons
I hope they will be blue or gray or whatever.
THE coat color genetics in bostons are (I think) the same as my breed - Black is the domainate color so some of the pups are gonna be black. red is the most recessive color so mom must only have the red gene to contribute. the color of the rest of the litter will be determined by the resseie hidden by the males black ifhe has the brindle hidden some will be brindle or if he hides red they'll be red, he could be homozygous black and ALL the pups will be black
Blue comes from a second gene the if inherited from both parents dilutes the black to greyblue - it's consided undesirable so if you dogs are from a good breeder the chances of a blue is low.
NOW Bostons due to round head shape have high rate of birth problems- since you don't seem to have a mentor READ UP! or find one and you need to work closely with your vet in case of a c section being needed
