How do I get my dog to stop shredding her bed?
I crate my dog and I try to put a dog bed in there for her so she has something soft to lay on but every time I do I come home and the bed is completely ripped apart. I've tried blankets, dog beds, furry pads, supposedly indestructable beds and yet she has ripped every single one apart. She has bones and kongs and toys in there for her to pass the time, but it doesn't help.
She's in there for 8 hrs while I'm at work.
She will be 2 in April and we do take her to our local dog park to get exercise. I cannot take her to work and there is nothing wrong with keeping a dog in a crate.
Take the bed away. That's the simplest solution. Give the dog her toys to amuse her. Then speak with an expert about a solution to the shredding.
