Would you have a designer dog?
basically I'm asking the question just to see the response. Would you dress up your dog and do its hair? would you carry it round in a handbag? I personally Would not as i like to think dogs are dogs,And i have a staff so he really wouldn't fit it any bags! what do you think?
Also would you have a custom bred (or many dog bred) dog for the purpose of looks?
The problem is that these people see dogs as a fashion accessory and not as a dog.
That said, my Greyhound does have lots of fancy collars (because she is a licensed Therapy dog and the people she visits like her fun collars) and she does wear a bit of bling(as in necklaces). But she is definitely a DOG -- I do not try to dress her up like a person.
I would not ever buy a designer dog, as I am against the cross-breeding of dogs just for profit. All my dogs I have acquired my entire life have been "used" dogs - from rescue, or from families who could not keep them. I would never buy a puppy of any breed when there are thousands of dogs being put down every day in this country.
I do not have problems with people breeding dogs for a purpose -to herd sheep with, to hunt with, or to show in AKC shows .... but to just make money with them is wrong.
