Chicken Biscuits
I need a recipes on biscuits for chicken and dumplings?
These are the BEST dumplings. The secret is in heating the milk and butter. It makes them lighter, and less like boiled dough. Mix it up a few minutes before you are ready to cook it, so the dough has a chance to puff a bit.
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix this really well! Heat the milk and the butter together (microwave is great) until the butter is melted. Add to the dry ingredients and stir it all together gently. You can either form it into balls, roll it and cut it into strips, or roll it and cut it into round biscuits. Actually, I cheat and just scoop spoonfuls straight onto the chicken mixture.
